The Vedas which form the roots of Dharma were revealed through the ancient sages for the welfare of mankind. We want to perform a ritual, but how do we go about it? We do not know where the propriety or otherwise of performing it is mentioned in the Vedas. Nor do we know where instructions are given about it. What are we to do then? Extracting information from them about the rite we want to perform is impossible because they are like the expanse of a vast ocean. If the Vedas bid us “Do like this, ” we do so. But since we do not know their ordinances well enough, what are we to do? Dharmasastra provides the answer to this question. Dharmasastras teach us the way to perform our karmas.

In order to overcome the doubts raised during performing the Vaidika karmas, with the blessings of the Acharyas of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal and Sri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal in continuation of conducting monthly “Veda Sammelanam”, weekly “Visesha Upanyasam” and daily “Smrti Sandesam” in this order Sri Sri Kanchi Acharyas have blessed to organise “Dharma Sastra Sadas”.
