Syamantaka Upakhyanam
(for parayanam on Ganesha Chaturthi)
ஸ்யமந்தக உபாக்யானம்
(பிள்ளையார் சதுர்த்தியன்று பாராயணம் செய்ய)
As per the ajna of Shri Ganesha, the Moon should not be seen on a Shukla Chaturthi; doing so will cause false accusations to befall us. Due to this, Shri Krishna was falsely accused of usurping the Syamantaka jewel blessed by Surya Bhagavan to someone else.
By Shri Ganesha’s anugraha, Shri Krishna disproved the accusation; anyone reading this story will also expiate this dosha. This parayana must especially be done at least on Ganesha Chaturthi, since we ourselves may not know that this mistake has occurred.
ஶ்ரீ கணேஶரின் ஆஜ்ஞைப்படி, ஶுக்ல சதுர்த்தியன்று சந்த்ரனைப் பார்க்கக்கூடாது; பார்த்தால் நமக்கு பொய் அவதூறு ஏற்படும். இதனால் ஸூர்ய பகவான் வேறொருவருக்கு அருளியிருந்த ஸ்யமந்தக மணியை அபஹரித்தார் என்று ஶ்ரீ க்ருஷ்ணருக்கு பொய் அவதூறு ஏற்பட்டது.
ஶ்ரீ கணேஶரின் அனுக்ரஹத்தால், குற்றச்சாட்டு தவறென்று ஶ்ரீ க்ருஷ்ணர் நிரூபித்தார்; இந்த கதையை படிப்பவர் எவருக்கும் இந்த தோஷம் விலகும். இப்பாராயணத்தை பிள்ளையார் சதுர்த்தி அன்றாவது அவசியம் செய்ய வேண்டும், ஏனெனில் நமக்கே தெரியாமல் நமக்கு இந்த தோஷம் ஏற்பட்டிருக்கலாம்.
